Befanini, the Ephipany cookies from Versilia (Tuscan riviera).

Befanini versiliesi, biscotti tipici della Versilia per l'Epifania.

Today I am posting a recipe from a friend and fellow blogger called Elisa.

She own a blog ( in Italian) about good food and good restaurants of her zone, Versilia, a renowned part of Tuscan riviera.

To let you know more about Versilia I share with you a site ( in English and other languages) https://www.versilia.org/en : food is always a trigger to learn more about places in the world!

Saffron and rhum shortbread biscuits.

Welcome back to my Cookie Advent Calendar!

Finding 25 different cookies to post has been very challenging as I neither didn’t want to make too similar recipes nor use recipes I already had on blog.

It asked a lot of efforts and work but I am very proud of what I’ve done, so much I’m already thinking about a different Advent Calendar for the next year, not sure about what ( no more cookies for a long time lol!).

Sugar coated cookies from Tuscan- Emilian Apennines.

Zuccherini montanari, biscotti tipici dell'Appennino bolognese.

Hello and welcome to day 9 of the Cookie Advent Calendar.

The today’s recipe is from the mountains around here, it’s a very old, a simple cooking example.

I remember these cookies as one of my dad’s favourites: when I was a child I used to munch them all around to eat the sugar, leaving the inside of the cookie as I didn’t like the anise. 🙂
