Piadina turnovers with German filling.

Piadina turnovers with German filling.

I’m back after a long iatus, I had things to do, end of the school parties, work, hot weather struggle…

I don’t know if you remember my project about piadina turnovers filled with fillings inspired to different countries.

I did the Icelandic ones, the French ones, the English ones, I’m working on Dutch ones and today I’m posting here the German turnovers.

I made a big big mistake as you can see in photos: I had to make and shoot four different recipes, I was in a hurry and I took the wrong flags to decorate the photos.

Homemade milk candies.

Homemade milk candies.

Every Italian child used to eat Galatine, candies made with milk powder.

They are still a hit among usually eaten candies, I still love them a lot.

I had this recipe wandering around my “Image” fold, it’s a very easy recipe but I’ve never found the time, or the willing, to do it even if I needed this to get rid of some powdered milk I had because I made these milk buns.

Halloween, my favourite feast, is coming and this year I would like to post something themed as usual but this October I’m very busy with beautiful things, I’m going to Ljubljana with my sisters and to Lucca Comics & Games ( our Comicon to explain briefly) with friends so I decided to give a scary flair to a recipe I have to do for our monthly  Bloggalline’s ( a foodblogger group) recipe exchange.

This month I made a recipe from Zucchero and Cannella, Gabriella’s blog, full of nice things, expecially bread and sweets.

Today I had my first approach with school homeworks, I’m worn out.

I screamed more than St. Hartman, before you can say something like how convenient could be a soft approach please consider my son is a lovely boy but he could eat Ms. Montessori whole, alive.

He’s not even remotely touched by any request made in a polite way; at the very start he’s very keen to his homeworks, he cares about doing them right and well, when he discovers homeworks are more than he expected the big drama starts.

September is in full bloom, this week schools are going to open after the usual long summer break ( about 3 months of holiday, it could sound strange abroad) and my son Lorenzo in three days is going to be a primary school boy.

Even if we cared a lot about introducing this new step with joy, trying to instill in him curiosity, he only got he’s going to hell or somewhere similar, he’s not going to have any friend and he will fail the year for sure.

It’s great having such a bright and positive son.

He’s harassing himself and us, these three days will be very long, I hope he will discover school is not this bad.
