Fresh Crudaiola Pasta: The TikTok Recipe That Changed Everything for Us
This is a completely random recipe my son showed me on TikTok.
Why did I make it? And why does it deserve an entire post on my blog?
Because my son lives with ARFID.
For years we simply said he “had issues with certain foods,” mostly because of texture, but only recently did I learn that what he experiences actually has a name. And one of his biggest struggles has always been vegetables—especially raw ones.
But here’s the twist: he wants to eat better.
He’s pursuing rugby very seriously, which means he wants a diet that actually supports an athlete’s lifestyle. The problem? Having ARFID makes this extremely difficult.
And yet… he ate a whole plate of this pasta.
He loved it.
He officially added it to his extremely short list of “safe enough” foods.
That alone makes this recipe worthy of a post.
Honestly? It deserves a throne. With angels singing. Spotlights. Fireworks. The whole opera.
Because for us, this wasn’t just a new dish—it was a tiny victory.
And besides that, this TikTok find turned out to be a genuinely delicious, fresh, super easy meal for the whole family: pasta alla crudaiola, made with ripe tomatoes, raw onions, plenty of basil, and a generous handful of pecorino.
A Fresh, Easy Pasta That Even Picky Eaters Enjoy
What surprised me the most is how simple the dish is. While my son was trying something new, I realized I had stumbled on a recipe that I actually wanted to make again… and again.
The fresh vegetables, the cold dressing, the warm pasta absorbing all the juices, the sharp pecorino—everything comes together in minutes.
