Invisible Apple Cake: A Refined French Apple Dessert

Ingredients

  • 4 apples ( Golden, Granny Smith...
  • 70 g all purpose flour
  • 30 g caster sugar
  • 1tsp baking powder

To taste:

  • cinnamon
  • ground ginger
  • walnuts, chopped
  • raisins

Instructions

  • Peel apples and slice them very thinly with a mandoline slicer.
    Set aside.
  • In a bowl mix all other ingredients, you'll have a thick batter.
    It could seem very little, it's ok.
    Add apple slices and mix gently.
  • Set aside for 15 minutes, mixing now and then.
    Apples will release their juice and the batter will spread evenly.
  • Pour the batter in a greased tin ( round or plum- cake shaped), you can sprinkle some sugar on top.
    Bake at 360°C for about 45 minutes.
  • Let it cool, it's even better if eaten the day after.
